date night last night was a mixed bag — ya win some, ya lose some…

first, the good news: Thai House was as delicious as we’d been told by family (including our Thai BIL Laem), despite its unprepossessing location in an old house (which used to be a Mexican cantina that finally went out of business, for reasons that are unknown to me and that I don’t care enough about to research)…  we ordered Thai lemonade to drink (if you’ve never had it, it’s actually quite sweet and has fresh mint in it); Thai dumplings for an appetizer; and for our entrees we chose to share Tom Kha Gai and beef Pad King (steamed rice was a complimentary side) — the food was traditional (NOT Americanized, thank goodness!!) and was absolutely delicious!  if you love Thai food and live in or are planning to visit North Utah Valley (or even South SL Valley), Thai House is THE place to eat!  (I’ve tried Thai Chili Gardens in Orem and Thai Village in American Fork, and they’re both good but not AS good as Thai House)

now the bad news: instead of playing mini golf at Liberty Land theme park, we decided to go see Babylon A.D., a new movie starring Vin Diesel (we didn’t know anything about this movie other than seeing one trailer) — BAD decision, we should’ve stuck w/mini golf…  😛  I cannot begin to describe all of the ways in which this movie stunk, but suffice it to say that the plot — if there WAS one — left me AND my DH completely mystified, and the film was basically an excuse for Hollywood pyrotechnic guys to blow stuff up…LOTS of stuff; it was 2+ hrs of my life I’ll never get back…  :X  the only thing about this movie that was any good was the popcorn (lots of butter!!  😀 ); bad BAD movie, don’t waste your time or the $8 — stay home and fold laundry, wash the dog, learn macramé, go play mini golf…
